Guinness Six Nations - Top 5 players to watch

It's the most wonderful time of the year - for the Rugby faithful that is. 6 Nations, 7 weeks, 15 matches and millions of boozed up supporters.

Each year Rugby's greatest championship throws up a number of surprises including some exciting new players breaking onto the international stage. Here's the players I think will be key for their sides this tournament.

The most unlucky man in English Rugby is set to make his first Six Nations start in 6 years against Ireland this weekend. He has found his form of old form Leicester this season being a nightmare for opposing defenders. He will bring a direct option in the centres for England with them losing Ben Te'o to injury.

Toulouse have been on a resurgence of sorts this season, particularly in Europe. Ramos has been a key part of the side with his playmaking from fullback and also offers France another option from the tee. If France are looking to compete at the top once again they will need Ramos to replicate his club form.

Probably one of the hottest players in Europe at the moment, Carbery had been in phenomenal form for Munster. However, how do you steal the no.10 shirt from the World player of the year? He will need to bring his attacking flair from the bench to prove to Joe Schmidt that he deserves his chance. Ireland will benefit greatly from Carbery's presence if, God forbid, anything were to happen to Sexton then they have a more than suitable replacement.

Over the past couple of seasons many have called for Robson to have a chance with England but has been recently plagued by injury stopping him from making his debut in the Autumn. He has recently returned to Wasps and has shown glimpses of his form that made many pundits take note. He will inject pace into England's game and snipe around the breakdown to constantly offer an attacking threat from the bench.

Another player who has been in great form for their club side. Williams is a surprise inclusion in Gatland's starting line up this weekends starting ahead of Gareth Davies. The scrum half is known for his pace, skill and fiery nature which I'm sure Gatland and Wales fans will love.
