All was normal in world football before the start of the season before the wannabe football superpower China started to try buy every player that a twelve year old would try to buy on Fifa career mode with Manchester City. The biggest offer that was made was by an unnamed Chinese club for Ballon D'or winner Cristiano Ronaldo. The offer made was a staggering £257 million. It was obviously rejected as Ronaldo still has a good few years left in him at the top before Neymar comes into power.

Snodgrass has been Hull City's key man this season which has brought interest from other clubs. Most of all West Ham. To declare their interest they decided to bid £6 million for him. This would have been a good bid...If he'd still been playing for Leeds and was having a decent season in the Championship.

All was well in Chelsea's world, Top of the league and Costa banging in goals. This was all until Tianjin Quanjian offered Costa a £30 million-a-year contract. This also came at the same time as an apparent bust up between Costa and Conte had occured. Chelsea fans were panicking about the rest of their season before paradise was eventually restored for them.

Another strange one from West Ham and very similar to Snodgrass. Once again it was a £6 million bid for a key player at his current club who is essential in their fight against relegation. I don't see many circumstances in which Sunderland would let Defoe go. Maybe a £40 million bid from Barcalona but they're not looking for a 34 year old striker because apparently they have a bloke called Luis Suarez.

West Ham feature once again when their world was flipped upside down when Slaven Bilic announced Dimitri Payet no longer wanted to play for the club. This caused the West Ham faithful to turn on him immediately brandishing him a snake and a traitor. West Ham have refused a £26.5 million offer from Payet's former club Marseille as they do not feel a 29-year-old is worth West Ham's valuation of £30 million. Payet does not look like he will be sold this January, damaging his career by not playing.
